                                  Maa-Kaali-Durga

Mix of high hills, forests, ruined fort and wildlife.

My Fourth Trekking!
May 7th 2k17

Makalidurga is a hill fort situated in the village of the same name,It is located at a height of almost 4400 ft.

This hill fort is around 63kms via doddaballapura from madiwala.

This Hillock is known for night trekking, many people go for night trek to this place,

Makalidurga hill top offers a nice view of the places around like the railway line, nearby villages and dense forests, water bodies, rocky terrains etc.

We were 6 of them, one is my colleague (Premesh) he came around 5:30am near to my home, other 3 friends (Nigil and his friends Sharath and Adarsh - Happy to meet new people) were waiting near to the FORUM, and the last person was my cousin (SRB) picked him from vasanth  nagar.

You can find the route by the arrow marks as shown in the pic leading towards Makalidurga Fort.

We started to ride to Makalidurga which was our first destination, It begins with a 2-km walk on the railway track from the station of Makalidurga.

You can also ride bikes to the beginning of the trekking trail as well.

Parked our bikes near the parking as this place is not fully govt undertaken and there is no any government staff to take care around,

A local villager stands near the trekking trail to sell water and to take care of the vehicles.

We started trekking and around at 9:00am we were top of the hillock, at the top there is a fort which is in ruined condition and a Temple.

The view from the top is breathtaking, especially the lake the mountains and the railway station looks amazing from the top.

It is one place that offers trekking but also does not restrict you whatsoever.

It is definitely perfect for the nature lover.
