Rocky hills of Antaragange

Antaragange is a rocky hill situated in the shathashrunga mountain range at about 1226 meters of  southeastern part of karnataka in kolar district,

It is commonly known for trekking and the temple situated on the mountain.

Many dragon flies and butterflies you can see while climbing the initial steps to the temple

Initial steps to Antaragange Temple

Near by the Antaragange temple there is a pond which gets a continuous flow of underground water from the mouth of basava(stone bull),

We saw many believers filling water in bottles from here because it is believed that one can get rid of diseases by drinking this water.

It is around 70 kms from madiwala(bangalore) we were 4 guys(my colleague dayanand and his 2 cousins) in 3 bikes,

We planned to meet in krishnarajapura as they are coming from T.dasarahalli we taught this will be the perfect location.

Started riding towards antaragange via hoskote and we didnot take any break for tea and snacks as it was late already,

We reached near to the entrance of antaragange by 7:00AM and parked the vehicle in the parking area, a good parking facility available here.

Having a cup of tea near to entrance we decided to trek, first you get around 300 steps which will take you to the Temple,

Passing through the temple there are rocky steps from here it will start actual trekking to the hidden caves of Antaragange.

Initial rocky steps to the Antaragange hill top

Here we saw a kid who came to us and offered us to show the hidden caves and also said that you can get lost easily in the caves if you do not know your way around,

but we decided to trek and exploring the caves ourself, unfortunately there is not a sign board or arrow marks on the stones or anywhere,

We climbed to the top again we saw few guides offering to show the caves,

if you are confident enough and a adventurous person please go ahead without the guide or else you will be really lost in the hills.

We climbed to the top of the hill, caves are really hidden and we explored many caves, the temperature inside the caves is cool too and even you can see beautiful views where you can sit for a while and admire the landscapes.

On the hills there are few villages and you can see a home in this pik

Please do carry at least 2 liters of water/person we took only 1 liter of water/Person and it was not enough for us and take some ready to eat food and protein bars, it is bit medium hard level trek.

After trekking we came down,we were very much thirsty and hungry, drank a liter of water and went in search of food, on the way to kailasagiri we reached near to a town, had food and started riding towards kailasagiri.

KAILASAGIRI - Man Made Cave Temple

Entrance to kailasagiri

Kailasagiri is around 54kms from Antaragange.
It is a cave temple inside a hill, caves are being made artificially(nothing/ never like the historic badami caves) the work is in process,

The authorities are making it good but the nature is harmed.
Outside the cave temple we saw many believers collecting small medium sized stones and building/keeping the stones one on another,

Seeing this I asked dayanand(my colleague) he said it is a belief here that if they keep the stones and pray they can built there homes easily

The Temperature outside it was too hot but inside the caves it is exactly opposite, it was cool n pleasant, we felt really relaxed.
It is not so big cave, there is a temple inside the caves.
We sat for few minutes inside the caves, It is a good place for meditation too but due to the crowd and many children inside were making noise and there is no one to control them, they were playing happily as though they came to a park.

AMARNARAYANA SWAMY TEMPLE

While coming from kailasagiri we saw this temple, beautiful architecture.

Just took some pictures from outside the temple as we did not have much time, it was already 5:00PM and started drizzling as well so we decided not to visit inside the temple.

SHRI SHRI SHRIYOGI NARAYANA YATEENDRARA TAPOWANA

Kaiwara national park or the kaiwara tapowana is named as shri shri shriyogi yateendrara tapowana, It is around 8 kms from kailasagiri but when we reached this place it was 5:15PM and the gate was closed before 10-15mins.
The watchman showed us the timings written on the board timings was till 5:00PM.We saw a visitor who came out of the park, asked him about the park there are few peacocks and rabbits nothing else was his reply.

Many Honey Nest/Honeycomb on a single tree
Beautiful view of sunrays from the clouds

After having a tea near Kaiwara tapowana ,we decided to sign off from the place and get back home even the clouds were dark, On the way back home when we reached near to the devanahalli toll the rain started hitting heavily and we stopped for sometime in the toll, waiting for 15-20 mins rain did not stop completely it was drizzling, we started riding it was fun riding in the rain but road was slippery one must be very careful while riding in the rain.
