The Hanging Pillar After trekking Makalidurga we headed towards Lepakshi, It is around 60 kms from Makalidurga, We reached around 1:00PM in Lepakshi Temple, It is built in vijayanagara architectural style. The sculptures in the temple and the paintings on the ceilings add the beauty of this temple.The best one which mesmerized us is the 'Hanging pillar' which does not rest on the ground fully, There are about 70 pillars at this 16th century temple of stone in vijayanagara style , hats off to the ancient engineer/temple builder.
